INTO THE THICK OF IT RIGHT AFTER BREAKFAST
Start the day with a leisurely buffet breakfast at the adults-only Hotel Josl. No need to be too early as the cable car is right next to the hotel. You can look forward to a range of fine pastries, cold cuts, cheese and spreads as well as all kinds of eggs and a good selection of muesli. To drink you can choose a delicious espresso or cappuccino as well as fresh fruit juices. The right outfit and the ideal equipment are also necessary for a perfect day on the piste. FANCY A SPOT OF FREERIDING ON YOUR HOLIDAY IN THE ÖTZ VALLEY?
Your ski guide will show you the best spots. Try the mountain station at the Top Wurmkogel II. Glide over the Wurmferner and the Vordere Wurmkar into the valley cutting that separates Hochgurgl and Obergurgl. For more freeriding we recommend the Festkogel. From the Plattachbahn mountain station a little hike will take you up the good 3,000-metre-high peak. The crowning glory here is the Hangerer mountain, which is a stop on the Freeride World Tour.
TAKE A BREAK AT THE OBERGURGL CULINARY PARADISE
When you get hungry, swing by the top-class restaurant in the new building complex of the Kirchenkar cable car where you can enjoy delectable Austrian specialities. Or visit Hochgurgl’s Top Mountain Star at 3,080 metres. You won’t forget the amazing panoramic view. Also try to drop in at the Hohe Mut restaurant a 2,670 metres above sea level. Obergurgl also scores points with its lively aprés ski scene.
APRÈS SKI IN THE MOUNTAIN LOUNGE
Back in the 4-star Hotel Josl, make yourself comfortable in the Mountain Lounge; this is one of the highlights of the hotel and the ultimate meeting place. Glass in hand, you raise a toast to yourself for making the excellent decision to come to Obergurgl-Hochgurgl for a skiing holiday. Afterwards you can relax and pamper yourself in the Sky Sphere spa in our adults-only hotel. Located on the top two floors of the hotel, this is a spa par excellence. Pure relaxation. To put the finishing touches to a perfect day’s skiing, it’s worth paying a visit later on to the Josl Keller in the basement.
